Despite lots of rumors to the contrary, the date for the Brooklyn Half is in fact April 14. Certainly better than last year’s March 18. An extra month of training, only a slim chance of ice on the boardwalk, plus you don’t have to run while "recovering" from St. Patrick’s Day proceedings, when the glasses are often more than half full.
As has become an annual tradition, we’ll be coaching the Jack Rabbit training program for the Brooklyn Half. Click here for more info.

For those of you who have questioned my manhood, called me a Nancy, or suggested that I lack the requisite toughness to ever be a good athlete, I took the opportunity to prove you wrong on January 1, 2007. It is then that I took the plunge into the Atlantic without a wetsuit. The water was brisk at first, but once I got moving, it was actually quite invigorating. I have to say that I don't really understand what everyone says is so painful. In fact I went back the next few days to do it again. Overall, it was a very empowering experience, and one of which I am quite proud. Aside from a bumpy flight back from the Bahamas, I'd have to say it was a perfect trip.
