5th Avenue Mile

5th Avenue Mile

Congratulations to all our team members at the New York Road Runners Fifth Avenue Mile. Among the adults, we had some strong showings.

  • Isang Smith – 5:07 (4th place in AG, 6th woman overall)
  • Alison Desir – 6:04
  • Sam Segan – 6:09
  • Juny Francois – 6:27

Even more exciting, was the debut of our youth team.

  • Elysse McCambley (age 13) – 5:50 (3rd overall girl under 14)
  • Ava Joshi (age 9) – 9:49

I couldn’t be more proud of both Elysse and Ava. Congratulations girls.

Recently we put out a request to collect race medals for distribution to young patients at the Loma Linda Children’s Hospital and the San Diego Children’s Hospital through a great organization called Medals of Courage. With the help of JackRabbit Sports and Brickwell Cycling & Multisport, we got more than we could have imagined. To say that the response was overwhelming doesn’t begin to explain it.
