Francis has been active in the New York City running community, since 2008 as a Masters Runner, Mentor and Coach. At present he is a coach in the Jack Rabbit Marathon training program. Before joining the City Coach Multisport coaching staff, he worked for Nike in their RunNYC program. His experience includes coaching high school track and field in South Africa.
Francis is a licensed New York State Mathematics teacher, and USATF Level 1, certified coach. He is a competitive masters, track, trail, and roadrunner and has exceeded the ALL American Standards at distances and events from the Mile (4:37) to the Marathon (NYC 2011, 2:41:37), as well as the Decathlon.
Francis is an all round athlete who has competed in triathlons and ultra marathons, including the Comrades Marathon. He has circumnavigated the world in a 41 foot sailboat, and survived playing rugby form the age of 7 to 47.
