I’m fresh off my first half ironman race! I competed in IRONMAN 70.3 Austin last last Sunday, October 30th. After a week off after Age Group Nationals in mid-August, I put in a brief 10-week training cycle for the race. Thursday, September 17th

2pm (EST): Get an email that all American Airline flights to and from Chicago have a ground stop as soon as Herb and I arrive at LGA. Hang out in Au Bon Pain for a while, then on the plane for another unexpected hour. Luckily, we had snacks, and once in chicago, Herb’s friend picked us up from the L station with food in tow from Smoque!

Lift Things Up and Put Them Down and Other Goals for 2015

Does anyone else look at weekends as an opportunity to get in more training? That’s where I’m at right now. I’m coming off of a long Valentine’s/President’s Day weekend where the aim of each day, besides keeping my flowers alive and my chocolates from disappearing, was to get in solid workouts and resting the remainder of the day. With an average high of 18 degrees this weekend, the latter was pretty easy to do.

Since I last wrote about USAT National Age Group Championships, there have been a few momentous happenings. Unfortunately, “momentous” doesn’t always mean positive, but we’ll get to that.
