Sleepy Hollow Half Race Results

Sleepy Hollow Half Race Results

Nice work this weekend by the CCMS contingent at the implausibly hilly Sleepy Hollow Half.

  • Isang Smith 1:34:14 (2nd in AG)
  • Jessica Purcell 1:41:40 (4th in AG)
  • Steven Zebrak 1:47:11

Our athletes had to deal with the usually hilly course being modified to make it even worse (or better depending on your POV), as well as also a coach who refused to taper them for the race. Well done.

Cherry Tree 10-Miler Race Results

Nice work at last weekend’s PPTC Cherry Tree 10-miler by Jeffrey Dweck, who finished in 1:06:31, which was good for 4th in his AG, and Isang Smith who ran 1:11:12, which got 6th in her AG. Both raced far more rapidly than I posted their results, and they are to be commended for that.

The Team Approach at Duathlon Worlds

The Team Approach at Duathlon Worlds

It takes a village to raise a child. Same can be said about an athlete. So many people helped in getting me to the start line.

I don’t remember the last time I’ve entered a race feeling so unsure of my training. I did the best I could in preparing given that my Achilles tendons have been really bad for well  over a year now, and particularly bad in the past 6 months. That said, instead of running for the past ...

Orange County Duathlon Race Report

Get the red, white and blue uniforms printed. Isang Smith and Sheila Monaghan will be joining grizzled veterans Nicole Sin Quee and Jessica Purcell at this year’s Duathlon World Championship in Ottawa. While NSQ and Jess took the easy way out and qualified off of last year’s ranking, Isang and Sheila raced their way in at today’s Orange County Duathlon. The Orange County race was one of three regional qualifiers, and the top six in each age group ...

Nicely done, Isang.

Congratulations Marathoners: Philadelphia Edition

Major congratulations to the City Coach contingent who visited the City of Brotherly Love for the Philadelphia Marathon this morning. We had five racers – including two debuts. Sophia, Ken and Isang had to deal with the fact that they had originally planned to run NYC, yet regrouped and ran strong. The team ended the day with PR’s all around.

  • Jeffrey Dweck – 3:05:27 (PR)
  • Marc Mouhadeb – 3:16:38 (PR)
  • Isang Smith – 3:17:25 (debut)
  • Ken Weingold – 3:18:55 (PR)
