Portugal Day 5-miler Race Results
Would someone please tell Cipriana Cuevas that she's not supposed to get so fast so fast? You've heard me tell the story before....starts running...does Run for the Rabbit a few months later...does her first marathon in 4:50....does a marathon in 3:34 less than a year later...loses 80 pounds along the way...breaks 7-minute miles for the first time...yada, yada, yada. Her latest head turner came today at the NYRR Portugal Day 5-miler, where she not only went sub-7 again, but also won the 25-29 AG in a time of 34:10. Then there's Adele Laboz, who was supposed to be lounging on the Jersey Shore and taking it easy with her training. She's moving...burned out from doing three marathons in five weeks...just taking it easy...yada, yada, yada. Adele ran 38:29 today. Now if we could just get those timing mats outside the potty-potties, she'd be even faster.
Last but not least, there's Michele "Don't Call it a Comeback" Levy. Michele is just taking it easy as she gets her 9+1 in...easing back into training...not worried about her time...yada, yada, yada. Michele ran 45:20 and is officially in Marathon training mode.
Congratulations ladies.
